This 2500 square foot home was a custom build for a retired couple. The home was designed with their lifestyle at the forefront of our thoughts. Three bedrooms, two full baths, and a spacious great room with a full dining room allow plenty of space for family to visit during the holidays.
What attracted this couple to Crestone was the feeling of living inside a national park. So we included large windows, and many outdoor rooms (roof deck, screened porch, and a large patio facing the mountain views). Plus a cozy window seat for those days when you want to admire nature, but not have to be out in it.
A 5-inch concrete slab, with continuous foam insulation and air barrier underneath, on deep footings
We used double-stud framing to give the feeling of a straw bale home- warm, thick insulating walls.
We primarily used blown cellulose insulation in this home, packed in the walls, and generously piled in the attic spaces.
There is a continuous weather-proof barrier underneath and around this home, which allows for a stable temperature in the home, when you want to keep the weather out.
All houses create moisture. This smart Intello membrane ensures the vapor in the home escapes in the proper manner.
With finish-work, our motto is, "If we do it right, no one will even notice what we've done because it will all just feel right."
